Canadian Poker Continues Full Force

Recently poker fans have been caught up in the drama surrounding the online poker sites that were shut down by the American government. The shutdown came as a huge surprise to poker players across the U.S., Canada, and the rest of the world. While we may have been expecting something to happen, seeing an FBI announcement on the world’s biggest poker sites wasn’t exactly what we had in mind.

Even though the disruption caused to American poker fans is potentially severe and life-changing, Canadian poker players have since gone back to enjoying online poker as usual. Things were uncertain for a couple of days and many players may have felt annoyance, concern, or even compassion for American neighbours locked out of competition, but with only a few exceptions, poker hasn’t changed much here at home.

There are a few differences, however. Due to the Americans cracking down on online poker and millions of U.S. players now blocked from joining games and poker tournaments in a legal way, the field of competition has changed for Canadian players. Whether or not this change is a good thing depends entirely on the individual. Some players thrived playing against Americans, while others preferred to frequent sites geared toward fellow players in Canada or even in Europe.

Another change concerns the vast poker entertainment empire that used to be dominated by the U.S. in North America. American companies, producers, organizations and casinos were in control of most of the television shows that feature poker, with the exception of Norm McDonald recently joining High Stakes Poker (and even so, the show is still produced in the States even if he is Canadian). Now that the dynamics of the American poker market have fluctuated so much, many production companies are moving quickly to cancel plans for shows. This leaves a lot of room for Canadians to pick up the slack and capitalise on new opportunities.

All information about the game in Canada on Canadian Poker

There are many sites offering information about competitions, strategies, rules and poker rooms, but each one does it in a different way, whether by providing reviews of poker casino games, forums for gamblers to discuss among themselves, or something else.

Canadian Poker started off in the summer of 2005 by a team of poker players from Ontario. The team used to go to Parry Harbor to play in bi-monthly tournaments, which were only known by word of mouth.

The team decided to start a website meant for Canadian poker players, and later to the broad public in Canada and Europe.

On the Canadian Poker website you can purchase products related to poker, such as books. You can also play online poker and learn the rules of the game as you go. How can you do that? Choose the room where you would like to play in and it will redirect you to its website. The only exception, of course, is for Full Tilt Canada, which was shut down following Black Friday and is trying to sort things out with the authorities.

Another good thing is that you can register for any poker tournament, get updates of previous events and also receive “hot “news regarding upcoming events in Canada and Europe.

So, if you still have doubts, why not try Canadian Poker? It is an incredibly reliable site open to everyone, not only Canadians. No matter where you live, the site and games are always open to you.

A new Canadian Poker website

Canadian Poker is considered to be the best poker resource in Canada. It offers comprehensive online poker news updates, and also follows, among other things, the international poker scene, offering Canadians a leg up in the poker world.

In addition, in the Canada Poker online casino website there are live broadcasts of poker tournaments, a free school of poker, casino poker versions, poker leagues for Canadian players, and all this through the forums.

For the site’s grand opening in the summer of 2010, everyone is invited to preregister to Canada Poker and win amazing prizes, given to those who registered in advance.

As soon as the site is on the air you can, of course, watch each registered player’s profile, get information on poker leagues, create poker tables, enjoy a variety of different games and even receive regular updates concerning tournaments and other games.

The site supports the English and French languages, which are the national languages of Canada.

So, if you have any question, problem or comment you may direct them to the site’s staff by filling a form on the site or sending an email to: info@canadapoker.com.

Important online poker safety measures

Casinos have a bad reputation, and as many Canadian gamblers know, some establishments thoroughly deserve a bad rap. As more and more of Canada’s gamblers take their money online, its good to know that disingenuous online casinos and Internet poker rooms are few and far between. It comes as even better news, then, that the rapid growth of the online gambling community makes it easier than ever to protect yourself against online gaming fraud and financial loss.

Before you play poker – or any game – online, learn about the site at which you wish to play and take note of important information such as bonus rules, deposit methods, and software requirements. Make use of the online gaming community’s many blogs, forums, news services, and help guides, and try to establish relationships with other players within the online poker community. Making this kind of Internet friend might seem silly, but networking with other players this way is a lot more than corresponding with virtual pen pals. The online poker community’s collective experience is a priceless tool to possess throughout your gaming experience, for the sake of your security as well as your gaming strategy.

Although it has taken a while for online gaming regulation to catch up with industry demand and expansion, local and international authorities are working to improve the legal infrastructure of the online casino world. For this reason, it’s important to take measures to ensure that you comply with any and all sport and betting regulations that may apply to you.

The exciting world of professional poker

Many casual poker players have big dreams of conquering Canada’s high stakes pro tournaments. Although most gaming experts maintain that we all have the potential to be champions, only a blessed few of us have the time – or the patience – necessary to achieve the level of success we truly desire. In these trying times, many occupational fields are highly competitive; this is especially true of professional gambling.

Playing professionally is a lot of hard work and, as wonderful as the high stakes circuit sounds, this kind of career will doubtlessly take a heavy toll on every aspect of your life, from your finances and family relationships; many people don’t realize that competing in tournaments for a living necessitates a lot of travelling. It might be said that the online poker world has its own professional circuit, and while there’s truth to this statement, the gap between the online and offline poker realms is shrinking dramatically by the minute.

Most online casinos and online poker rooms host a variety of tournaments, and it’s increasingly common for these sites to offer prizes and bonus points that tie into larger tournaments, such as the WSOP and the WPT. This type of incentive may not guarantee that amateur players will always get a shot at a pro career, but qualifying to play in a professional tournament is no small feat, and it may be as close as many of us will ever get to our living out our card shark dreams.
